Early Voting & In-Person Voting

  • Lake County voters can cast their ballot at any early voting site in the county.
  • To find your assigned polling place for Election Day, you can use the County Clerk's voting site locator or look up your personalized voting information via the County's Voter Power page. (For registered voters only.)
  • When voting in-person, you must wear a face mask and keep at least 6 feet from other people.
  • Expect long waits for early and in-person voting, and plan accordingly. If you arrive at your polling place shortly before voting closes for the evening, STAY IN LINE. If you have joined the line before the end of voting hours, you must be allowed to cast your vote.

Voter's Bill of Rights

As a voter, you have the right to:

  • Cast your ballot in a non-disruptive atmosphere free of interference.
  • Vote if you're in line by 7 PM.
  • Vote by provisional ballot if your registration is not found.
  • Vote at your old voting site if you have moved within 30 days of the election.
  • Request assistance in voting, if qualified.
  • Bring newspaper endorsements or sample ballots into the voting booth but take them with you when you finish voting.
  • Protect the secrecy of your ballot.
  • Receive a new ballot if you make a mistake or change your mind.
  • Screen your ballot after voting to ensure it is complete and correct.
  • Have your ballot counted fairly and impartially.

If you believe that any of these rights have been violated, you can contact the Lake County Clerk's Office at 847-377-2400.
